Anyone else feel super wary of this guy? I love Heiser but find it unfortunate that this guy is taking over so much of his ministry, everything he says feels borderline heretical. Like what do you mean there was no plan? Maybe this is out of context? & his view on the atonement also concerns me a lot. I just wonder if Heiser really would agree with all this stuff because it really concerns me. Putting faith in the true God means nothing without the atoning sacrifice of Christ, which cleanses us from our sins & reconciles us to God so He may dwell among us.

John obviously understood what Heiser is pointing out here. Note the opening of John's gospel. It is not, "In the beginning God created," but rather "In the beginning God spoke"....ie. "In the beginning was the Word...God's Word."

Look! they didn't originally start out referring to "the satan" as Satan. It came over a long time that they began to call him Satan as if it were his actual name. Instead of "the adversary" he became Adversary.

I love Heiser but he was never able to understand LDS theology. It's shocking actually. How can you be that smart and never quite get it. "All the Elohim are basically the same. They don't have attribute distinction." This is simply untrue. We do not believe that every entity is the same. We don't believe that Jesus and Satan are or were ever equal. Jesus is God. Satan isn't. There is a huge hierarchy. We will never be equal with God. This while notion is taught no where in LDS thought. It's just crazy he never got this. May he rest in peace.

The very first mention of the plan of salvation is Genesis Chapter 3. The notion of the Messiah to come is all throughout the Old Testament, and even Jesus himself told us that the entire book was about him. Claiming the right GOD includes claiming the correct Messiah by its very intention within the Holy Scriptures…. So yeahhhh, this summary was missing the point entirely. GOD Bless! ❤️
